Yesterday, Riversdown students enjoyed a party in the bluebell woods, at the bottom corner of the golf course.  Following a tradition created by Jane Lewis, students were invited down to the woods with the promise of cocktails in order to fully enjoy the beauty of the bluebells. Bluebells are wild flowers native to Britain that grow mainly in shade, creating a wonderful carpet of colour.  Bluebells are special because the UK holds over half the world’s population, making them an iconic, protected symbol of British springtime. They are a sign of undisturbed, ancient woodland, often taking centuries to establish.  It was the warmest day of the year so far when the group were joined by Richard Lewis, and they all thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.
