Set in the beautiful rolling hills of the South Downs, Riversdown is the perfect place to get away from it all but, at the same time, is in the middle of everywhere with some stunning attractions within easy reach. There really is something for everyone and we have everything you need.
Riversdown House itself is a charming, traditional, fourteenth-century manor house that blends in harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. It is a peaceful, relaxing place, which is full of character. Each bedroom has its own unique, cosy atmosphere and you can feel the history around you. Jane Austen may have visited the Estate as she lived nearby.
Riversdown boasts a nine-hole golf course with its own highly-acclaimed golf-pro, an authentic Finnish sauna, an outdoor swimming pool, grass and all-weather tennis courts, a well-equipped gym and a games room with a full-size snooker table. The footpaths close to the House provide access to some breathtaking local beauty spots and are suitable for walking and running alike. There is also a nationally recognised scenic cycle-route nearby. We can provide equipment such as bicycles, golf clubs and tennis rackets.
Here in the heart of Hampshire, we are only thirty minutes away from Winchester, the ancient capital of England, and about forty-five kilometres from Downton Abbey.
Indeed, Riversdown is the perfect location from which to explore many beautiful places, such as the South Downs National Park, the award-winning local villages of West Meon and Cheriton, Jane Austen’s House in Chawton, Stonehenge, Oxford and the New Forest National Park to name but a few.
Riversdown is also within easy driving distance of some excellent rural gastro-pubs and top-quality restaurants, where it is possible to eat out in style surrounded by the charm of the local area.
